enjoying th rustafarian feel of Ghana. Loving the beaches, wildlife, local people, all of it!
We entered a little hungover on New Years Day. Spent a few days in Mole NP. You could lie in the pool - my first bath in a few hot sweaty days - and look down to a waterhole where there were elephants drinking!!! SO very cool to see my first wild elephant!!! Went on a walking tour the next day and saw an elephant but not much else. Did have the lovely experience of waking to a warthog outside my tent!!! I have a newfound respect for the artists in the Lion King!!! Not the most attractive things in the world!
Had some wonderful times on the beach here. Something about palm trees on a clean clear beach that makes you feel like you are on holiday!!!!
Unfortunately we lost two of our team while here, sadly they departed home. But never fear we sent them off in style! With a truck party - i am a professional esky surfer on a moving truck now by the way - followed by beers at the beachside bar. Not a pleasant head in the group the next day! Recovered and had a drinking competion with Dani the next evening as her send off. I am very very proud to announce that i was the last person at the bar that evening/morning. Anyone who has ever had a drink with Dani would be impressed!!! She is a wonderful wonderful person, and a drinking machine - dont tell her but i think it took me a week to recover!!!! Bless her cotton socks she later realised that she got her flight dates wrong and should have been flying out about the time we seated ourselves at the bar...not the next evening as she thought. I will catch up with her again in Suit Afrika but not before i train my liver ![]()
Had my first tro tro experience in Ghana, poor Brian had me sauished on him in a taxi with 25 other africans (12 seater taxi!) Just something to get used to for the east coast!!! God i love our truck!!!
