Still in South Africa

sunny 25 °C

Dave and I head out from East London (via a free minibus - yes free stuff is abnormal to us and we both went into a few moments of shock!) and have since been cruising up the wild coast of africa. Time seems to have flown, we are so very very relaxed!! Dave has been learning to surf and i have been patiently watching from the hammock/beach with a book in one hand and a (free) coffee or (not free) beer in the other hand!

We got caught in a wicked - a mean - storm in Port St Johns. Unfortunatley we were upgraded from camping to a dorm - they worried our tents would blow away - for no extra charge, and had to sit around a log fire with locals and other travellers playing board games, reading books, drinking, etc for 2 days. Life sucks!

Have since come to Durban, where we have eaten indian food, watched live rugby (currie cup), seen a play - all that culture!, and i have managed to replace my trousers that keep falling down - it was getting really really embarrassing there for a while!!! Too many people have seen my butt crack and now my butt!!!

Dave and i have been having a really lucky time lately. Everything seems to be falling into place! Even avoided a riot the other day in which people marched through durban with sticks, and axes, and all this crazy stuff. We would have bought lottery tickets over the past week if we were living in this country and able to claim the prize! That is how lucky and blessed our travels have been!

So tomorrow we are going to brave the mini bus taxi station and try to get out of this town. Hopefully our luck holds out!!! If we can find a taxi to St Lucia we will go there, if not Swaziland here we come! Either way, goodbye south africa sometime in the next week!!

Hope you are all well,
xo
